The position oversees the Department of Athletics operational areas and all home athletics competitions and events including, but not limited to supervision of the athletic facilities, scheduling, preparation and event management for 16 sport teams, directs all championships and postseason events, and oversight of rental operations.Primary accountabilities:1. Administer and manage facility and event scheduling for the athletics facilities. Maintain and distribute facilities activity calendar, approve or deny facility requests for specific events and arranges technical requirements such as parking, staffing, and any other services that might be necessary for the standards of event management.Develop, manage, and supervise building security. Establish, review, and maintain departmental policies and procedures in accordance with University guidelines.2. Manage the necessary setup and conversion of facilities for practices, games, and other events. Serve as game day administrator coordinating details for athletics contests to include ensuring officials are scheduled and confirmed for all events, locker room assignments and parking for teams and officials, credentials, and provide game day operational guides for distribution to all visiting teams and officials.Serve as Director of Championships and postseason events.Collaborate and communicate with numerous athletic department areas and campus partners including athletic communications, fan experience, video services, ticketing and parking to ensure the successful presentation of events & championships.Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise. Issues may not be facility related but may be athletics program related within regards to practices and competitions.3. Management of event rentals and assists in creating rental proposals. Serves as a liaison to outside agencies or entities related to the program, prepares research and analysis leading to cost effective event operations, develops plans and projections, budget oversight, and determines successful operational methods, processes and procedures. Track all contracts and payments owed for facility rentals and staffing.4. Oversee sports operations unit responsible for day-to-day support and operations for Olympic sports. Collaborate with staff to coordinate and execute administrative tasks while following university and departmental policies, NCAA and Mid-American Conference bylaws and regulations.5. Interview, hire, train, and supervises staff to include graduate assistants and student staff. Delegate, oversee and manage workflow and assignments. Determine staffing needs and levels which includes but not limited to setup, event management, breakdown and cleanup assignments.
