As Ohio's chief compliance officer, the Auditor of State (AOS) makes Ohio government more efficient, effective, and transparent by placing checks and balances on state and local governments for taxpayers. The AOS is currently searching for an experienced individual to serve as an Administrative Assistant in the Audit Division located in Northeast Ohio.
What will you be doing?
The Administrative Assistant, under direct supervision of the Office Manager, acts for the Chief Auditor, Assistant Chief Auditor, Office Manager and Senior Audit Managers in performing the following duties independently:
- Formatting final audit reports in a timely manner for publication by the office by combining electronic files provided.
- Editing report files as needed to ensure proper presentation based on guidance provided by administration.
- Resolving audit report problems and preparing written correspondence on behalf of the Region.
- Coordinates required first and last day procedures for the employees of the Region with the Chiefs/Office Manager and with Human Resources.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as:
- Prepare first class and certified outgoing mailings and UPS shipments
- Receive, distribute incoming mail via electronic means and/or redistributing to regional employees
- Screen incoming phone calls for the region and distribute to the appropriate parties or provide phone messages as needed
- Assist with the IPA contracting process for the Region based on guidance provided by the Chief and Assistant Chief Auditor.

Qualifications
Educational and Experience:
Successful candidates will have:
- Skills in operation of copier, personal computer, scanner and fax machine. This will include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret variety of instructions in written, oral or schedule form; Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
- Handle routine telephone and/or face to face contact; screen mail; complete routine forms; write routine notices and business letters.
- Maintain confidentiality; handle multiple tasks; work within specified time frame; generate accurate, properly formatted documents; assess questions and provide appropriate information or referral.
- Possess high organizational skills; good interpersonal communication skills. Co-operate with co-workers on group projects.
- Government experience is preferred.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
