Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member's tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of Orthodontic Dentistry. The primary responsibility for this position will be to teach predoctoral didactic courses, supervise predoctoral orthodontic clinic, is in charge of screening with residents and predoc students, and fulfilling graduation requirements or D3 and D4 students in the competency of predoc orthodontics. In addition, the candidate will help create treatment planning with residents, and oversee patient treatment with residents in clinic. Other duties include contributing to the overall mission of the division, participating college governance, and practicing in the college's affiliated contemporary intramural Dental Faculty Practice.

We are seeking an outstanding clinician, educator and scientist who will be expected to develop independent, and sustainable teaching commitment and research programs. We are looking for a focused, innovative clinical and translational research professor for advancing orthodontics. The successful candidate will fully participate in the division's activities.

Requirements:

Required: DDS/DMD equivalent. Strong knowledge of modern technology. Experience teaching pre-doctoral and graduate orthodontics.

Desired: Candidates with ABO certified or eligible for ABO certification are preferable. Track record of securing extramural research funds is highly desirable.
