Reporting to the Manager of CFAES Western Agricultural Research Station, assists with overall implementation of agricultural crops and swine research programs; provides support services for CFAES faculty, staff and students in planning and implementing crops research programs; assists with instruction of student employees in field operations to carry out crops and swine research; duties include coordinating operations for crop based field experiments, plot design and layout, collection of data samples according to project protocols; prepares and summarizes data and reports; operates, calibrates, adjusts and repairs agricultural machinery and specialized equipment; applies experimental treatments according to project protocols; collects data on crop yields and growth parameters and records other observations which may affect experimental results; performs animal operations with swine production (feeding, farrowing, breeding, moving pigs and other operations in a research environment); assists with animal health care; assists with manure handling; assists with general operations including grounds, facilities and machinery maintenance; keeps detailed records of field operations and treatment parameters; assists with field days and other public events; interacts with and carries out other duties on behalf of investigators; occasionally performs similar duties at other research station locations as required; works adjusted schedules according to weather, soil and crop conditions; position is located in S. Charleston, OH.
