As the Aviation Mechanic for Cleveland-Cliffs, this role will ensure the Company's aircraft operates properly and securely, based on regional and federal safety regulations. Primary responsibilities include maintaining and repairing system components, detecting malfunctions and fix them using power and hand tools. You will not be alone in this; you'll work closely with your supervisor and other mechanics to deliver quick and efficient solutions.
Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Perform regular system inspections and repairs as needed
- Maintain systems and equipment
- Use gauges and diagnostic tests to detect malfunctions
- Perform troubleshooting
- Keep maintenance and repair logs
- Understand and apply guidelines from manuals and blueprints
- Ensure compliance with regional and federal safety regulations
- Collaborate with other members of the Cleveland-Cliffs aviation team as well as outside vendors as appropriate
Education & Experience:
- Preferred Bachelor's / Associate's degree in relevant field such as aviation, mathematics, sciences or technical studies
- Previous experience as an aircraft mechanic or in a similar position.
- Aviation-specific training and/or qualification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work nonstandard schedule, which may include weekends and holidays
- Valid US Passport
